Weekly digest of W3C news and trends: DRM in HTML5, SPARQL 1.1 Standard, Tim Berners-Lee awarded 1st #QEPrize for Engineering …

This is the 15-22 March 2013 edition of a “weekly digest of W3C news and  
trends" that the W3C Communications Team prepares for the W3C Membership  
and public-w3c-digest mailing list (publicly archived [1]) [sent  
separately]. This digest aggregates information about W3C from online  
media, a snapshot of how W3C and its work is perceived in online media.

Notably this week :

- 800 stories about W3C on Twitter in 7 days.
- over 3500 mentions of W3C in 7 days, with peaks on 20 Mar (960 mentions)  
and 21 Mar (1377 mentions), respectively matching HTML5 validator now  
supporting <main>, and the EFF article “Defend the Open Web: Keep DRM Out  
of W3C Standards”.
- 19 posts that dlvr.it posted between Mar 10 - Mar 17 got 29.8K (+24%)  
clicks and reached 66.3K (+12%) connections.
- With 57471 Twitter followers, net increase of 585 followers in the past  
week.
