Weekly digest of W3C news and trends: New HTML5 editor, WebRTC

This is the 1-8 February 2013 edition of a “weekly digest of W3C news and
trends" that the W3C Communications Team prepares for the W3C Membership
and public-w3c-digest mailing list (publicly archived [1]) [sent
separately]. This digest aggregates information about W3C from online
media, a snapshot of how W3C and its work is perceived in online media.

Notably this week :

- over 700 stories about W3C on Twitter in 7 days.
- over 1800 mentions of W3C in 7 days, with a peak on 6 Feb (336
mentions). Top story:
   * Steve Faulkner joins the HTML5 specification editors team
    <http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html/2013Feb/0072.html>

- With 54331 Twitter followers, net increase of 490 followers in the past
week.

- There were over 1800 stories in the past 4 days about WebRTC demo of
Firefox and Chrome talking to each other. There were 10.6K mentions
(peaking over 4-Feb (5393 mentions) and 5-Feb (3343 mentions)).
