A committee tasked with determining which area Catholic elementary schools should be closed released its recommendations Tuesday.
Working with local boards, pastors, principals, elected officials and the Archdiocese of New York, the committee determined 22 Catholic elementary schools that have been designated as at-risk should be closed in June.
The recommendations were accepted by the Archdiocese of New York and the schools are now slated for closure.
Affected students will be invited to attend neighboring Catholic schools.
