Contentious Brooklyn School Rezoning Plan Approved

A volunteer panel of parents voted in favor of a proposal to rezone P.S. 321 in Park Slope

A controversial school rezoning plan in Brooklyn is getting the green light.

A volunteer panel of parents voted in favor of a proposal to rezone P.S. 321 in Park Slope and other neighborhood schools.

The plan shrinks the zone for the crowded public school to an area between Prospect Park West and Fifth Avenue and expands the zone for P.S. 10, a new elementary school that will be located in the St. Thomas Aquinas building on Fourth Avenue.

Some parents fought the plan, saying it would decrease diversity and force students to attend a new, untested school.
