Marcus Semien

TEX Second Baseman #2

Marcus Semien went 4-for-5 with a leadoff homer and five RBI on Tuesday, powering the Rangers to a 15-8 blowout victory over the Athletics.

Semien set the tone with a leadoff blast -- his sixth round-tripper of the season -- off Athletics starter Ross Stripling before adding a pair of run-scoring hits as part of Texas’ 10-run explosion in the ensuing frame. The 33-year-old ironman has shown zero signs of slowing down as he approaches his mid-30’s, batting .266 (42-for-158) with 27 runs scored, six homers, 27 RBI and one stolen base through 37 contests.
Jorge Soler

SF Right Fielder #2

Jorge Soler (shoulder) remains absent from the lineup for Tuesday’s contest against the Rockies.

It’s a tough break for fantasy managers as Soler will wind up missing an extremely favorable matchup against Rockies righty Dakota Hudson at Coors Field. The 32-year-old righty has been out since last weekend due to right shoulder soreness. He remains day-to-day for now. It’s possible he’ll be available off the bench, but that remains to be seen. It’ll be Wilmer Flores at designated hitter in his absence.
Seiya Suzuki

CHC Left Fielder #27

Seiya Suzuki (oblique) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Tuesday with Triple-A Iowa.

Cubs manager Craig Counsell told reporters Suzuki is likely to return to Chicago’s lineup later this week on either Friday or Saturday when they take on the Pirates. The 29-year-old corner outfielder has been sidelined since mid-April due to a right oblique strain, which was expected to keep him on the shelf for at least one month.
Cody Bellinger

CHC Center Fielder #24

Cubs activated 1B/OF Cody Bellinger from the 10-day injured list.

Bellinger will make his return to Chicago’s lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Padres following a two-week absence due to a rib fracture. The 28-year-old slugger was off to a bit of a slow start at the dish this season, batting .226/.320/.440 with five homers and 17 RBI in 97 plate appearances over 22 contests before a collision with the center-field wall back on April 23 resulted in a rib injury. Fantasy managers should make sure he’s back in their respective lineups moving forward.
Paul Sewald

ARI Relief Pitcher #38

Diamondbacks activated RHP Paul Sewald from the 15-day injured list.

Sewald has been sidelined since the beginning of the regular season with a left oblique strain. The 33-year-old veteran, who finished with a 3.12 ERA, 1.15 WHIP with both the Mariners and Diamondbacks last season, will slide back as the D-backs’ closer which puts an end to Kevin Ginkel’s brief stint in the role.
Victor Robles

WAS Center Fielder #16

Nationals activated OF Victor Robles (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list.

Robles returned to the active roster on Tuesday and will be available off the bench for the Nationals. The 26-year-old was placed on the injured list with a hamstring injury after he suffered the injury running the bases. He’ll likely get some looks as a designated hitter, but doesn’t hold much fantasy value given his playing time.
Ian Gibaut

CIN Relief Pitcher #79

Reds transferred RHP Ian Gibaut (forearm) to the 60-day injured list.

After being shut down for a second time during a rehab assignment, the 30-year-old now be sidelined for an extended period of time. Gibaut’s forearm injury has been an issue since spring training and he’s had multiple setbacks. There’s no timetable for when he’ll make his return to the Reds’ bullpen.
Frankie Montas

CIN Starting Pitcher #47

Reds activated RHP Frankie Montas (forearm) from the 15-day injured list.

After two weeks on the injured list, Montas will return to the active roster and is scheduled to start Tuesday against the Diamondbacks. The 31-year-old holds a 4.19 ERA, 1.45 WHIP with a 14/10 K/BB ratio across 19 1/3 innings this season.
TJ Friedl

CIN Left Fielder #29

Reds activated OF TJ Friedl from the 10-day injured list.

Fantasy managers that held onto Friedl, today is the day. The 28-year-old, who had a breakout season last year with 18 homers and 66 RBI while slashing .279/.352/.467, returns to the Reds’ lineup after being on the injured list since the start of the season. He’ll be a major plus to the Reds’ offense and fantasy managers who have him rostered, but expectations may want to be simmered for at least the first few days as he gets back to major-league speed.
J.P. France

HOU Starting Pitcher #68

According to The Athletic’s Chandler Rome, J.P. France is dealing with a shoulder injury that could sideline him for a while.

Well that’s not good. There hasn’t been an official transaction to put France on the injured list, but that could come soon. The 29-year-old dealt with shoulder issues during spring training, but he was still able to recover in time to make the team’s Opening Day roster. The 29-year-old posted a 7.46 ERA in his first five starts this season before the Astros demoted him to Triple-A Sugar Land.
