The Weather Forecast for 24th September to 30th September
The end of September did what it says on the box; brought a change of seasons. The predicted rain at the start of the week didn’t materialise on Tenerife although Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura did experience quite heavy rain. Instead, after a mainly sunny week with a few clouds, the rain waited until Thursday before soaking Tenerife’s north and north eastern shores to the delight of the local residents. The rain avoided the south which experienced sunshine with quite strong winds instead. The rain hung around in the north for the second half of the week with light showers that conveniently fell during the night.

Weather Forecast for Tenerife from 1st to 7th October
It’s autumn now on Tenerife which means a slight drop in temperatures and the week will start feeling slightly cooler everywhere with the almost continuous blues skies replaced by a mix of cloud and sun. The north and east look like the best bets for sunshine in the first half of the week. Midweek looks as though it could be grey on all coasts with a decent chance of rain in most places. The second half of the week will see more sunshine and a rise in temperatures again. In fact the weekend sees quite a jump again (back up to summer levels) that it looks as though there could be a heatwave over the weekend.

Weather in South Tenerife –  A mix of cloud and sun is predicted for the start of the week in the south with Wednesday being cloudy and possibly having some rain (15-30% chance). After that it will be sunny with  cloudy spells although there will still be a slight chance of some rainfall. Temperatures will start the week cooler than in recent weeks at around 24C but these will increase to 28C by the weekend.

Weather in North Tenerife – If the forecasters are correct it’s going to be a sunnier week in the north with sunshine until Wednesday when it will be cloudy with a 20-60% chance of rain, Thursday will be more cloudy than sunny and then, like the south, the rest of the week will be sunny with cloudy spells and a chance of some rain. Temperatures should be around 21C before rising from Thursday onwards and reaching 28C by the weekend.

Weather in East Tenerife – The east is looking like a good bet for the most sunshine with a mainly sunny week except for Wednesday (cloudy with a 15-55% chance of rain) and Thursday (cloudy with sunny spells). Like most other places, there is the possibility of showers during the second half of the week but temperatures in the east will remain a more stable 23/25C.

Weather in South West Tenerife – A cloudy and sunny Monday is followed by a sunny Tuesday before the cloud and rain (20-40% chance) comes in for Wednesday. The situation brightens up again with sunshine and some cloudy spells for the rest of the week when, like everywhere else, there will be the possibility of some showers. Temperatures will vary from 24C to 29C.

Weather in the Mount Teide Crater – It will be sunny all week on Mount Teide and in Teide National Park apart from some cloud on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday afternoon. Temperatures in the crater will range from 11C to 19C and on the summit it will vary between 4C and 7C.

So far today webcams around Tenerife show a cloudy north and a sunny south.
