X Factor star goes missing: Manhunt for homeless Robbie Hance

Amazing talent who wows judges on tonight's show has disappeared after sleeping rough for more than six years

Vanished: X factors producers sent a team to scour the streets after losing contact

X Factor bosses launched a manhunt yesterday after amazing new talent Robbie Hance vanished.

Robbie wows judges on tonight’s show with a spine-tingling performance of Damien Rice’s Coconut Skins.

But the homeless 26-year-old, who has slept rough for more than six years around London’s Oxford Street, has disappeared despite winning through to bootcamp stage.

Producers sent a team out to scour the streets after losing contact six days ago.

If Robbie is not found in a fortnight his dreams of turning his life round and being a recording artist could be over.

A show insider said: “He’s a fantastic artist and he blew everyone away at auditions.

“He doesn’t have a phone and the only point of contact was through a friend. Producers last spoke to him on Monday but they can no longer reach his friend and have no idea where he is. It’s a real worry.

“If he doesn’t get in touch by the end of next week, then he’d have to kiss goodbye to any part in the show, which would be a tragedy.”

The new Ed Sheeran: Robbie's performance stole the show

Tonight, ITV1 viewers will see Robbie steal the show with his Ed Sheeran-style vocals.

After a standing ovation for his performance, Tulisa Contostavlos, 24, told him: “You look like someone that has been lost for a while and I think you need to realise the potential you have and how good you are.”

Louis Walsh, 60, said: “I think you are a very talented guy but I don’t think you have had a break in life and I think you absolutely deserve that.”

And Gary Barlow, 41, added: “You have got lots of talent and absolutely zero confidence and that is the only thing to work on in my perspective.”

Robbie grew up with his single mum in London but was taken into care at 13. He has spent his 20s sleeping rough and unable to keep a job.

Speaking about his experience before he vanished, Robbie said: “Since I was a kid, I stand in the middle of the street and I sing, it’s the every second thought you know?

“Two nights out of every fortnight I’ll stay somewhere like a friend’s house or something but the rest of the time I’m kicking out on the street.

“This competition could change my life, definitely.”
