'X Factor' Viewing Figures Takes A Nosedive

X Factor viewers has dipped below 8 million for the first time in five years following criticisms on the show's focus.

Since the launch of the ninth series of the talent show last month, the ITV production is failing to match its viewing figures from last year.

The Sunday night edition of the ITV1 programme has had an average of 7.9 million viewers with only 8.2 million viewers tuning into the Saturday night audition show.

Sadly for X Factor boss Simon Cowell, the last time the show pulled in fewer than eight million viewers was in December 2007.

By the sounds of it, it looks like the music mogul's lucky streak is thinning fast.
