Demi Lovato Says It's A 'Dream Come True' To Work Alongside Her 'Idol' Britney Spears

Demi Lovato has never been one to keep her love for fellow X Factor USA judge Britney Spears on the 'down-low' and the former Disney star was full of praise for Britney yet again at last night's MTV VMAs, as she labelled the singer 'her icon'. Aww, feel the love!

The singer turned actress said that she 'grew up listening to Brit's poppy tracks' and is now more than thrilled to be working alongside her on the TV talent show. And we're not surprised!

"I think it was Britney Spears," she revealed backstage at the MTV Music Video Awards when asked what her first album was.

"Working with someone I idolised growing up is a dream come true? The fact that I'm getting to sit next to her in real life for any reason is pretty incredible."

"The new season of X Factor is going to be amazing, with tons of drama between the contestants, which I haven't seen but I'm dying to see."

We certainly can't wait to see what kind of drama unfolds. And that's just on the judges panel... never mind the contestants!

Meanwhile, it's been revealed that it was a bit of a close call as to whether Demi would actually get to work with her idol Britney, after the 'Oops! I did it again' star admitted to nearly quitting on the first day of filming, after she suffered constant panic attacks. Oh dear!

"No one is going to admit that on the first day your highest paid star after 20 minutes has walked off set," Cowell told the website during their afternoon show TMZ Live.

Apparently, on that first day, Cowell says Spears "had a moment on the first day where she said to me 'I'm not sure I can do this.'"

But Cowell assures that the 'When the World Ends' singer is now doing much better handling the pressure – and is enjoying being on board this season. Hurrah!
