X Factor's Gary Barlow Returns To The Spotlight After Tragic Loss Of Daughter

Following the death of his baby girl, Poppy last month, X Factor judge Gary Barlow decided to step out of the limelight to grieve privately with his family.

A month on, and the star made his comeback by attending the GQ Awards last night. Looking dapper in a smart black suit, the judge, who didn't attend the X Factor press launch ahead of the premiere of the new series on August 18, appeared comfortable as he stopped for pictures.

Speaking about his attendance at the Awards show, where he was presented with the 'outstanding achievement' award, the Metro reports a pal of the Take That frontman, as saying: "Gary just wanted a really fun night out. It’s the first time he’s been out since everything happened.

"He didn’t want the night to be about work and just wanted to have a real laugh with Rob and James Corden at his table."

Speaking at the event, Gary, who will return to our screens when the live finals stage of the X Factor take place, said:

"It’s a night to dust off your best suit and tie, and mix with some of the big boys isn’t it?

"I'm sure there will be some rowdiness tonight from our part of the room as we’ve got Rob and Corden around us all night."
