X Factor's Melanie Masson Fails To Mention Her 'Professional Singing Career' Past As Judges Praise Her Audition

X Factor favourite Melanie Masson could be seen wowing the judges on Saturday night (September 1), with everybody believing that she was some kind of 'undiscovered talent', when in fact she had actually been working with some huge names over the past 15 years.

Melanie is a full-time mum and made everyone believe that she'd just been hiding her voice for the past 44 years. However, what the judges were not aware of was the fact that Melanie had been working with the likes of Stereophonics, Fatboy Slim and Happy Mondays.

And that's not all! Melanie even released a single back in 2007 and was signed to industry giants EMI. Whaat?

The mother-of-two told The Sun: "Most of the work I did was10 to 15 years ago. But for the past six years I’ve been a full- time mum.

"I had a brief deal with EMI 18 years ago but was dropped after a year. I’ve never really had that big break to shine as an individual. This is my last chance."

Louis said: "Where did that voice come from and where has it been? This is what the show is about. Finding someone as amazing as you."

Before taking to the stage she said: "I started singing in bands from the age of 15. I used to sing all over Glasgow, then I had two wonderful children who are my absolute life but I still have dreams that I’ve yet to fulfil."

Gary led the compliments and said: "Melanie that was insane, oh my god that voice, you were guiding us through the song. It was amazing, it really was."

Tulisa agreed, saying: "You came on stage and you seemed really gentle and then all of the sudden this fire and this soul and this diva came out of you."

"You owned that stage you absolutely rocked it - that is how you do an audition. Amazing."

Melanie impressed the crowds with her 'lack of confidence' and 'fairy-like ways'...not so innocent now is she? Do you think contestants should be allowed to audition after already releasing a single?
