'I don't really know what Westlife look like': X Factor wannabe Raymond sings boy band's hit but doesn't know who they are when he meets them
He may have impressed X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos when he sang You Raise Me Up in his audition, but Raymond failed to recognise Westlife when he met them.
The 77-year-old came face-to-face with Kian Egan and Mark Feehily in Newcastle but didn't know who they were.
'I don’t really know what Westlife looks like, but I know one of them is a blonde haired lad,' he said to Xtra Factor host, Caroline Flack.

The TV presenter introduced the singers to Raymond when he revealed what song he was going to perform, saying: 'These guys are quite good at singing that song.'
Wearing a light-coloured suit and a striped tie, Raymond - who is a karaoke singer - went on to say that he didn't 'know what to expect' when auditioning.
'I’ve never been in front of a crowd as big as this before. I’ll give it a go. It’s the only chance I’m going to get. I might pop my clogs before I get to the end of it, but I’ll enjoy it.'
Following his audition, Tulisa told him: 'I absolutely loved that audition; I think that was a beautiful performance.'

Another male singer who managed to impress the judges was 26-year-old Joseph Whelan.
Wearing camel-coloured trosuers and a white V-neck T-shirt, the tool salesman from Wolverhampton, sang a version of Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love but his emotions got the better of him when his four-year-old son joined him on stage.
'Well the reason that I’m here today is because I really want to try and give my son the best life possible, I’d feel complete in life if i could do that.' he told the panel.
'You've got an amazing talent, you've got an authentic rock voice,' judge Louis Walsh told him when he had finished.

Gary Barlow agreed, describing him as 'absolutely awesome,' while Melanie Brown said to him: 'You smashed it. You're really hot, you've got great tattoos, and you smash things up with tools, and then you sing...done.'
Lifeguard Jake Quickenden was also a hit withe the famous judges after singing a version of Kings of Leon's Use Somebody.
'I love your voice, I love your image, I thought it was a great song choice for your audition today, you were fantastic well done,' Gary told him.

But it wasn't just the male contestants who were impressing the panel up North, as a few females stood out for them too.
Full-time mother, Melanie Masson, managed to get good comments from the judges after belting out Janis Joplin's Cry Baby.
'I started singing in bands from the age of 15,' she told them before performing. ;I used to sing all over Glasgow, then I had two wonderful children who are my absolute life but I still have dreams that I’ve yet to fulfil.

'Music is the only thing I’ve ever wanted to do but I feel it’s kind of make or break now. I’m going to sing today like it’s the last time I’m ever going to sing.'
'Melanie that was insane, oh my god that voice, you were guiding us through the song. It was amazing, it really was,' Gary told her once she had finished.
Tulisa agreed, saying: 'You came on stage and you seemed really gentle and then all of the sudden this fire and this soul and this diva came out of you. You owned that stage you absolutely rocked it - that is how you do an audition. Amazing.'
However, two women who didn't get such positive feedback was Alison Brunton and Nicola-Marie Bloor.

The pair seemed to share a love for Lady Gaga, with Alison choosing to sing her hit, The Edge of Glory, and Nicola-Marie admitting that she is a Gaga and Amy Winehouse tribute act.
'Sorry I’m just dead nervous and I just talk on and on and on when I’m nervous!' Nicola-Marie told the judges once she was on stage.
After belting her way through Taylor Dayne's 1988 hit Tell It To My Heart, she received a mixed opinion.

'I didn't really enjoy the audition, I found it dated and ultimately I'd find you really annoying if you were in my category,' Gary told her, while Melanie disagreed.
'I properly loved it, it was full on. Yeah, it is a little bit dated, so what, but you grabbed my attention.'
Someone else who grabbed the judges attention was a group of young girls in Glasgow who arrived at the auditions wearing full Scottish attire.
Tulisa was so impressed, and had even coordinated her outfit with the girls, that she had a photo taken with them backstage.
