Tonight saw the return of the X Factor and the continuation of auditions to find the next big star.

This week's show focused on the auditions in London, Manchester and Newcastle, with guest judges Rita Ora and Mel B making an appearance.

As the auditions took place with many of the hopefuls getting a 'no' from the judges, we were introduced to 20 year-old Lucy Spraggan who arrived on the stage with her guitar telling the judges that she was going to perform her own song.

Breaking out in her own song, describing a night out and the feeling she has the morning after, the hopeful soon got cheers from the audience and the judges who gave her a standing ovation when she finished.

So impressed with her song, Louis Walsh told Lucy: "I get it! That song could be a number one record Gary couldn’t it? Lucy, very few people get that reaction do you realise that?"

Echoing Louis' thoughts, Tulisa told the hopeful: "Oh Lucy, you have completely and utterly got me sold, that song there is going straight on my ipod. That clever, kind of rappy singing, it’s funny, it’s intelligent the way you put your lyrics in…"

Making a dig at Tulisa, Gary added: "I loved your song, what a fantastic songwriter you are, when you listed all those drinks it’s just like a regular night out for Tulisa!"

Known for her harsh comments, Lucy even impressed Mel B who told her: "I absolutely loved it! You don’t know how great you are, that’s what’s endearing as well, you’ve got like a little bit of vulnerability about you, be confident, you are brilliant!"

What did you think of Lucy's audition, did you agree with the judges comments?
