WATCH: One Direction, Leona Lewis And Jedward - X Factor's Most Memorable Contestants

The X Factor may have only just started but it appears we're already toting up our most memorable contestants list.

From the good (Ella Henderson) to the bad (Zoe Alexander), we saw it all in last week's series nine premiere. But what about the contestants from X Factor yester year?

Who can forget the Grimes twins, Jonathan and Edward who we now know as pop sensations Jedward? They may not have been able to sing that well but they got through to the final stages and have gone on to be relatively successful. They even represented Ireland TWICE in the Eurovision song contest.

Whilst Jedward became memorable for being annoyingly entertaining, X Factor 2011 alumnus Frankie Cocozza became memorable for all the wrong reasons when he was booted off the show for his hard partying ways.

Luckily the show is also known for catapulting uber talented songstress Leona Lewis to fame. Since winning the show, the London native has hit the top of the single and album charts numerous times around the world.

And of course who can forget One Direction, the five lads who were put together on the show? They may have not have won but the lads - in particular Zayn Malik and Liam Payne - hit the headlines with their X Factor romances as well as going on to become the biggest body band in years.

Whilst Liam fell for an X Factor dancer, Zayn fellow for his fellow finalist, Rebecca Ferguson.

It's been a memorable eight years! We can't wait for the ninth!
