Despite reports suggesting that Simon Cowell wasn't happy with the X Factor rating figures last year, it looks as though judges Tulisa Contostavlos and Louis Walsh couldn't have been happier as they shot down the question of whether they were worried about the ratings for this year.

Although the X Factor was trumped by rival BBC's Strictly Come Dancing a numerous amount of times, Tulisa revealed confidently that last year's X Factor which saw Little Mix take the title of winner was the "second biggest X Factor".

Talking to us at the launch of the hit show, which is going into it's ninth year, Tulisa said: "It was still the second biggest X Factor last year. At the end of the day just because you’ve got millions and millions of viewers and you drop down  one million and go back up a million, it doesn’t mean that the show is in crisis.

"It’s changed very much over the years and the viewers have fluctuated and it’s still the biggest show second to the royal wedding.

"So that in itself just shows me. I’m not worried about it at all."

Despite silencing critics with her answer, Tulisa, Nicole and Louis were then faced with the questions of whether the rule that hopefuls who already have managers can audition, would make the show unfair for those who don't have any representation.

Remaining defiant, Tulisa answered : "There has been a change in the kind of rawness in the auditions. People have been bringing guitars and writing theor own songs but what people forget is just because someone has experience in the music business, it doesn’t mean they are any less deserving to be on the show than a normal person who hasn’t had any experience."

The first show of the new series kicks off tomorrow, will you be tuning in with us?
