X FACTOR star Marcus Collins and actress Kelly-Marie Stewart paid a visit to the patients at Alder Hey children’s hospital.

Desperate Scousewives star Jaiden Micheal – a self-confessed “brutal blogger” – also showed off his caring side when he met the youngsters.

Kelly-Marie, who played Hayley in Hollyoaks, dropped off her donations for the Clothes Throw, which raises cash for the hospital’s Imagine Appeal.

Celebrities, designers and retailers will hand over clothes and accessories for the month-long event, which runs throughout November.

Kelly-Marie, 27, from West Derby, said: “I had heard about the Imagine Appeal and knew it was a good charity but I did not realise just how much they have done for the hospital.

“The Imagine Appeal raised funds to build the oncology building for the hospital. As a local girl it makes me so proud it is on our doorstep and I was really happy to donate to the Clothes Throw.

“We met some lovely children at Alder Hey but it was also nice to meet some of the parents as well.

“It was explained to us that some of the parents are in there with their children month in, month out. It is nice for them to see some different faces and have a bit of a giggle.”

They popped in to the West Derby hospital’s dialysis unit and orthopaedic wards yesterday afternoon.

Singer Marcus, a former hairdresser from Crosby, is among the stars who will donate clothes to this year’s event.

He said: “It was so good to give back and visit my home town. I am always busy with charity work so it was refreshing to come home for it.”
