It seems like only yesterday that Little Mix were crowned the 2011 X Factor winners, and now the ITV circus is rolling into town again on the search for more talent!

With only a few days until X Factor 2012 hits our screens, Entertainmentwise takes a look back at some of the more memorable contestants, but not necessarily in the good way!

The auditioning process for X Factor is arguably one of more entertaining aspects of the show, as dozens of hopefuls both talented and some not so talented, are carted out before the hard to impress judges and a baying audience, so if you're not exactly up to scratch it can spell disaster!

While those with a genuine untapped talent go through, occasionally a wild card slips through the net often the more eccentric characters whose support from the crowd occasionally manage to convince the judges!

Louis Walsh is a prime suspect and guilty of sending through several 'novelty' acts over the years, like Jedward and Wagner, much to the annoyance of Simon Cowell!

Other acts appear on the outset to have that X Factor, only later in the show or even their careers post X Factor do they turn out to be slightly less of a talent then originally thought, we're looking at you Frankie!
