X Factor might have rejected Olympic Louis, but the nation's ladies certainly won't kick him out of anything

Louis Smith is a British Olympic gymnast. He is also a bit of a singer and doesn't mind stripping off to pose naked. Nice to meet you Louis

We'd already spied the talents of Mr Louis Smith when we painstakingly compiled our top 20 fit male Olympians and by talents we mean his ripped body obviously.

Apparently Louis is also rather good at gymnastics too, which makes for a great opportunity to see his muscles in action – a favourite pastime of ours.

But Louis has a third talent – singing. Four years ago he entered the X Factor and got to the fourth round, which means he is able to hold a tune as well as five women in the air with one hand.

“It was a bit of fun,” Louis' just told the Radio Times. “I had to make a decision when I was eight and got offered a scholarship in singing either to do that full time or carry on with gym. I chose gym.”

We can't say we're disappointed with this decision, 'gym' whoever he may be, hasn't done Louis' smokin' bod any harm whatsoever.

At the time of his X Factor audition though, Louis had a bit of a different attitude towards singing and wanted to know if Simon Cowell thought he could turn to it when his gymnastics career was over.

“I'm still continuing with my training, but you've got to think about what you are going to do afterwards,” he told the Telegraph back in 2009, when he was just 20. “I have made it through to the fourth round of X Factor, which is when I get to appear on television and meet Simon Cowell and the rest of the judges for the first time. I just really want to hear what Simon says about my voice – whether he thinks I could make it as a solo singer.”

He's a very passionate lad too. Another box ticked (Image: Ronald Martinez)

Obviously he didn't. But that hasn't put him off singing altogether. One of his team mates Beth (great name) Tweddle says he's fond of entertaining everyone in the gym and is a bit of a show off by the sounds off.

“He likes to be the centre of attention. In the gym, you'll be training and suddenly he'll break into song,” she tells the Radio Times. “You always wait to see what hairstyle he has.”

Beth's one focused girl - we certainly wouldn't be looking at his hair if we were next to him as he pumped iron and sweated.

But although single (hurrah!) Louis isn't averse to sharing his wondrous form (he once stripped naked for a magazine shoot like a good boy), he's refusing to be distracted by girls.

“Even women aren't going to distract me from the Olympic Games,” he says. I've been chatting to one or two girls that I'd like go on a date with, but I've told them nothing before the Olympics.”

Louis is competing this afternoon in the gymnastics final. Following this we're assuming the real games will begin and that's when the proper scoring starts.

A leer at Louis Smith?

David Beckham made rather an impressive (we fell on the floor and wept) entrance to the Olympic games, via speedboat and handsome face.
