What About X Factor USA? Britney Spears Admits She 'Would Have Loved' American Idol Job

The X Factor USA panel could have looked completely different if American Idol bosses started their search for new judges before Simon Cowell.

X Factor USA judge Britney Spears has said that she would "have loved" to be a judge on the rival show.

Speaking to Zap2it about whether she would have considered taking a seat on the American Idol judging panel, the star, who sits alongside Demi Lovato, Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid on the X Factor USA panel, admitted: "I would have loved that."

Despite her admission, Britney, who has taken to Twitter over the auditions stage of the competition to reveal how much she is enjoying being a judge on the show, added: "I feel like [my arrival] brings a whole new energy to the show, definitely. Nicole and Paula were really great, but to have such a dramatic change, I'll bet this even made Simon and L.A. nervous.

"That was what they had been used to, then these two new girls come in. I don't know how it'll be perceived, but it's been fun for us. I've been having a blast."
