Brian Friedman could be returning to the X Factor next season after it has been announced Simon Cowell wants to shake up the show.

He is known for choreographing memorable performances by Jedward and Wagner. He even choreographed Diana Vickers on roller skates in 2008.

After a brief role as a judge, when Louis Walsh was sacked, Friedman was the Creative Director on the show from 2007 up until 2010. He then left the X Factor to work on the US version of the talent show at the request of Cowell.

When he previously spoke about choreographing the US X Factor to MTV he said: “The  performances that we do on there are boundless; there are no boundaries. We don't stand inside a box. There is no right or wrong. Every rule you could possibly break in TV, (we do). So expect to be wowed every week."

It has been noted that the performances on last year’s X Factor didn’t wow the audience as much as in previous series.

Friedman’s potential  return and the exciting staging he would bring could help pull in more viewers in the ratings war against Strictly Come Dancing.

An insider told the Mirror that Simon Cowell "wants Brian back on board to help the show look outrageous and unbelievable. Brian worked on the US version of the show last year and Simon has sent out an SOS to get him back to the UK.”

Also reportedly there will be changes in make up artists and stylists for the live shows. The X Factor returns at the end of the month.
