'You're a bunch of *****': X Factor reject and Pink impersonator flies into a frenzy and 'attacks' producer after judges reject her from the show

The X Factor is infamous for its tears and tantrums – and that is just the judges.

But yesterday, after eight series of the ITV talent hit, an X Factor reject finally snapped and attacked a producer.

Zoe Alexander, 22, from Caerphilly, South Wales, left a female senior producer in shock after punching her just minutes after being rejected by X Factor judges Gary Barlow, Nicole Scherzinger, Tulisa Contostavlos and Louis Walsh.

Miss Alexander, who performs as a professional tribute act to fiery pop star Pink, strode out on stage to perform her version of Pink’s hit, So What.

However, she failed to entertain the judges at Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena and was given another opportunity to sing, performing Emile Sande song, Next To Me.

But when that bid failed, she threw her microphone down and stormed off stage as she swore at the judges: ‘You told me what to sing. You are a bunch of *****.’

Security staff at the auditions were then brought in to calm the situation The producer allegedly assaulted by the contestant last night called police.

She reported the assault and will have to decide whether to press charges, a show source said.

An X Factor source told the Mail: ‘The judges gave Zoe four no’s and said her vocals were average.

‘Nicole said she should work on her vocals and come back.

‘Zoe left the stage, throwing down her microphone and hurling it towards the judges. Then she walked back on with her dad. Her dad was ranting at the judges while Zoe sobbed.

‘She then swore at the judges and stormed off, pushing Dermot O’Leary’s camera out of the way and kicking scenery.’

The source added: ‘We had security and a producer to escort Zoe out of the venue. And as she walked out she turned and hit the producer with heel of her hand in the face.

‘The producer’s glasses have been damaged and she’s had to put an ice pack on her face . We are still debating whether to call the police.’

Last night, Miss Anderson’s father Glen Smith, 55, said: ‘They wanted a girl with attitude and that's what they got.

‘They groomed her for the show saying she was what they were looking for at the Cardiff auditions.

‘They even chose the song for her - but then the judges all gave her a no.

‘They set her up, shattered a young girl's dreams of being a star all for the sake of reviving the flagging viewing figures for the show.’

Miss Anderson has performed at clubs and parties across Britain and in Europe.

She applied for the X Factor and was invited to audition after show producers saw a raunchy video of her act on her website.

Her father said: ‘They invited her to London, filmed a video of her and then chose a song for her.

'It was a Pink song, but not the one she would have chosen to sing.

‘But the understanding was that because they had chosen the song, she would get through.

‘When Gary Barlow and the other judges all gave her a no she was furious and I don't blame her.

‘Then she stormed outside and if I hadn't been with her I think she would have thrown herself under a car.

‘We were trying to calm her down and the show's security people were there manhandling her and being a bit abusive.

‘I told them she was my daughter and I could deal with it.

‘Then two X Factor people called her back in so she could talk to the judges.

‘But when she went inside a woman producer saw her and said: ‘I don't want any more of this woman’.

‘Zoe really lost it then and she gave her a push, not a punch but a push.’

Mr Anderson, who is a Tom Jones impersonator, added: ‘I was watching with the host Dermot O'Leary and he turned to me and said: ‘I think the Pink thing blew it’.

‘But the show wanted Zoe to do Pink - they chose the song. She told the panel that but they denied all knowledge.

‘Tulisa even said to her: ‘We didn't choose the song’ - so maybe she didn't know what goes on behind the scenes.

‘She wanted to be a pop star but they have wrecked her dreams.’

Zoe - who also failed last year in auditions in Birmingham - was back home last night and claimed she would quit showbusiness.

An X Factor spokesman said: 'There was an incident at the X Factor auditions in Cardiff. It is currently being dealt with.'
