Islandia-based CA Technologies has announced it has opened a search to replace current CEO Bill McCracken.
CA spokeswoman Jennifer Hallahan said the company plans to hire a firm to assist in the search process.
McCracken took over as CEO in January 2010. His contract with CA allows him to remain in the position until March.

“As you would expect from any public company, CA Technologies’ Board of Directors and Bill McCracken are engaged in a succession planning process in which internal and external candidates will be reviewed,” Hallahan said. “We are pleased with our strategy and progress as a company and are committed to ensuring the smoothest possible transition when the time comes.”
CA Technologies is Long Island’s largest public company, valued at $11.66 billion according to Long Island Business News’ 2012 Book of Lists. The company currently employs more than 1,500 employees.
