SuomiTV rebranded as FOX

As of April 16, the television channel SuomiTV will be named FOX, following its acquisition of the ailing channel in January. FOX is owned by media mogul Rupert Murdoch.

FOX will air programming 12 hours a day, up from SuomiTV’s seven hours.

Programming will focus on lifestyle, entertainment and current affairs shows.

FOX has said it will follow national rules requiring that Finnish-language programming be broadcast on the channel daily. FOX television shows are mainly produced in the United States.

SuomiTV was established two years ago by Canadian businessman Jeffrey Royer.
